Sebastian is a third-year architecture student at Cornell University whose approach to design has been shaped by the forests, rock formations, and mountain landscapes of Colorado. Growing up in Boulder, he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors through skiing, climbing, mountain biking, and exploring the Rocky Mountains. That connection to place continues to inform an approach to architecture rooted in landscape, materiality, and thoughtful environmental response.

Outside the studio, Sebastian has helped design and build saunas in an urban park in Brooklyn, the Ozark forests of Arkansas, and on a windswept island in Finland. These experiences have broadened his understanding of place, materiality, and the cultural role of architecture while deepening his interest in vernacular building traditions and the relationship between landscape, social rituals, and the built environment. He believes architecture is most meaningful when it brings people together while remaining closely connected to its surroundings.

Beyond architecture, Sebastian enjoys making things by hand. Whether woodworking, printmaking, or watercolor painting, he values the care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that come through the creative process.
