Gage Reese

Associate

Having grown up in a rural community near the headwaters of the Colorado River, Gage has an appreciation for the rustic landscapes and pastoral buildings of the Rocky Mountain region, bringing a local sensitivity and respect to each project and site.

Gage’s interest in architecture and design has evolved from a wide range of influences and professional experience. He approaches design with the aspiration that bold architectural solutions uncover the intersections between nature, technology, economy, history, and art, and seek to express the value implicit in the process of making meaningful places and things.

An Associate at CCY, Gage’s record of design experience has revolved around custom residential, resort community buildings, and hospitality projects. Gage’s leadership skills have contributed to CCY’s overall success through his desire to elevate the conversation about the firm’s process and approach to design. He has been instrumental in many of the firm’s key projects, including the award-winning Gammel Damm residence, and was integral in the production of Connection, a monograph of the firm’s work (Monacelli, 2021).

Gage earned his Master of Architecture from the Rice University School of Architecture in Houston. He has studied architecture at the International Institute of Architecture (II2A) in Vico Morcote, Switzerland, and earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado School of Architecture and Planning in Boulder. While at CCY, he mentored and lead M.Arch students, participating in the annual University of Colorado Denver School of Architecture and Planning Summer Design Studio. He has also served as a visiting guest critic at the University of Colorado Denver architecture program.
